Abstract
Market globalization and increased competitiveness in the manufacturing region have prompted several enterprises to contemplate shifting their operations. The decision to relocate manufacturing infrastructures to countries in the Southeast Asia regions has been a recent trend to capitalize on lower labor costs, favorable tax incentives, and cheaper material. To reflect this global trend, the paper will centralize around one detail case of relocating nail polish manufacturing from Mexico to Vietnam, considering multiple aspects such as pricing efficiency, market access, and strategic positioning. This study aims to analyze the complex web of factors that influence the kind of selection and to provide a comprehensive understanding of the strategic consequences of manufacturing unit relocations. Relocating a manufacturing site would require the cooperation of multiple functions within an organization along with external collaboration in other to adjust to the working environment changes in a new demographic along with possible alternation in legislation processes. This project aims to highlight the various challenges that may emerge during the relocation process and illustrate how effective project management skills are crucial for successfully navigating the transition and adapting to new changes.
