Biochemistry
Associate Professor of Biology Interim Program Lead: Dana Harriger Ph.D.
At Harrisburg University, students in the Biochemistry program don’t just learn science – they do science. With access to state-of-the-art instrumentation that meets American Chemical Society (ACS) requirements, our students gain hands-on experience using the same tools found in modern research labs, pharmaceutical companies, environmental testing centers, and forensic laboratories.
From their first year onward, students train on advanced equipment used in careers such as biomedical research and biotechnology, pharmaceutical analysis and formulation, and material science and nanotechnology.
All of this happens in labs equipped with essential safety and sustainability features, ensuring our students learn in an environment that reflects real-world standards and evolving “green science” expectations.
